We are looking a Project Scheduler to support the ESA Launcher Programmes in the HeadQuarters at Daumesnil, Paris, France. The support servcie is for Ariadne 6 and P120C Transition, with focus on the Ariane 6 early ramp-up manufacturing, integration and launch campaign as well as Ariane 6 Block 2 improvement.The servcie is to be provided in both French and English.

The scope of the Work Package may be extended to other Space transportation Directorate programmes. Two major tasks are required:

Task 1: Issue and update the Launcher Master Baseline Schedule, including:

  • Issue and update the Launcher Master Baseline Schedule
  • Monitoring and controlling the master schedule, performing complex schedule analysis; determine CPA; set up trend charts; reporting schedule analysis; verifying consistency between various schedules of different suppliers etc.
  • Determine the criticality of schedule activities, evaluate alternatives for improvement
  • Set up trend charts and templates
  • Report on the analysis
  • Support stakeholders in understanding the current status
  • Verify consistency between schedules of various suppliers
  • Integrate and develop the schedule including defining work activities and milestones, define durations and assign dependencies, create calendars and network logic, run risk assessments etc

Task 2: Define, Monitor and Control the Launcher Working Schedule, including

  • Develop launch planning for the manufacturing, integration and launch campaign including: defining key milestones, identifying critical and sub critical paths etc
  • Aggregate and synthesise lower level schedule inputs from various partners into a working Master Schedule
  • Develop and maintain the risk-adjusted schedule (using available Monte Carlo tool)
  • Verify consistency between schedules from various suppliers to identify potential risk areas
  • Monitor and compare the aggregated working Master Schdule against the Baseline Schedule and highlight any deviation of potential critical activity
  • Create and update trend charts on a monthly basis
  • Run CPA, evaluate alternatives for schdule improvement, run simulations and what-if scenarios
  • Perform complex program schedule analysis including metrics, CPA, trend charts, float overview etc
  • Establish and maintain regular schedule reporting the main Ariane 6 modules and aggregate and integrate the schedules into a Master Schedule

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience and knowledge from working in the aeronautical or space industry an advantage. More than 10 years of experience in project scheduling using tools such as MS Project (Professional), risk management tools. Expert knowledge in operating software using Monte Carlo techniques for schedule risk adjustment and Visio Professional
  • Excellent customer contact skills for engaging with internal ESA and external stakeholders.
  • Desirable experience includes working on space missions and in multi-disciplinary technical environments with engineers, scientists/researchers, cost controllers, etc
