What happens when you send your CV in to us?
When we receive your CV, we will contact you. If invited to our office, you will meet one of our account managers and fill out an extensive questionnaire. This will allow us to assess your work experience, preferences, mobility and career ambitions.
We take the time to find out what you are looking for. We will work with you for the best fit possible given your preferences. This is where our knowledge of our clients is in your favour - we know what sort of candidate does best in each work environment.
Why work for Octagon?
All of our candidates are employed according to national law, which relieves you of any liabilities of any sort. We often offer the initial contract as short-term, with the aim of taking you onto the payroll for an indefinite period of time if we both feel it is a win-win situation. This methodology guarantees our clients zero liability for taxes or legal obligations arising from accepting our candidates. This means they are more likely to take you on initially as a temporary candidate - this way you get in the door and from there can prove what you can do. It is often much easier to get into a company as our candidate than on your own as a permanent hire.
What are the terms of the assignments?
This all depends on the client. Some are seeking people in the short term, others are looking for a temp-to-perm solution. We work with our clients, and with our candidates, for conditions of employment with will work for everyone.
What happens when a vacancy arrives to our office?
When a vacancy arrives in our office, we start a search of our database. We have a comprehensive search database. We can look for someone who has done that exact position before or in that company, then we search the type of project (i.e. insurance or banking), skill sets (such as computer or software skills) and language sets. Once we come up with a preliminary list, we will obtain their permission and to assess their interest for this particular assignment.
We never send a CV forward unless we contact our candidates first, and get their permission. We offer a very personalised experience for each and every candidate.
What if I am not happy with an assignment?
We regularly touch base with our candidates to see how they are doing. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with an assignment, we will work with you to improve your terms of employment.
